Kirsty Higgins enjoyed some of New Zealand best beaches over the easter break.
Where: Opoutere Beach
Why: Opoutere Beach is approx 2hrs from Auckland on the Coromandel Peninsula and half an hour north of the thriving township of Whangamata.  Where else can you be the only ones on the beach and be half an hour away from civilisation, nice restaurants, bars, art galleries etc

Where: Wolleys Bay
Why: Wolleys Bay looking to Whale Bay is in Northland, 30 mins from Whangarei on the east coast of the North Island.  This is a great place to enjoy peace and quiet and open air - a great way to recharge your batteries!

Where: Matapouri Bay
Why: Matapouri Bay, on the Tutukaka coast 30 mins from Whangarei, 3hrs north of Auckland on SH1.  This is a a very safe destination for the whole family, one country store and plenty of open spaces!

Where: Whale Bay
Why: Whale Bay, Northland. 30 mins from Whangarei, 3hrs north of Auckland.  A lovely walk down through native bush will end with a swim in the crystal clear water. Enjoy the birds singing - the only noise to disturb the quietness!

Where: Waipu Cove
Why: Kate Meldrum (GM Marketing) enjoyed her easter holidays at Waipu Cove, 1 hour 45 minutes North of Auckland.  Waipu is the greatest beach in NZ!  Wonderful surf, white white sand.....and the Waipu Highland Games on 1st Jan - tossing the caber in NZ - its a strange site to see but its for real!.....oh and the Waipu Pizza Barn is the best food stop north of Auckland!
